Artist -- one definition is: a person skilled in one of the fine arts. I am in that process of learning to be an artist, albeit through college classes, workshops, reading or from the members of the Arrow Artists. Some days, I just enjoy being a little part of these creative and talented peoples' activities.
I am a native Nebraskan, raised in Iowa and transplanted to Broken Bow when married to raise our children--- never taking time to pursue an active interest in drawing or painting until the last few years.
I prefer colored pencil and graphite because of the simplicity of materials. Pen and ink intrigues me and I would like to conquer "watercolor". My subjects are usually trees, leaves, old barns, but I also like small children and old items that evokes a memory of a time or a place.
